Hey all - as the title says the stupid big boofer got his stitches out today - wasn't too impressed when the vet nurse took him out the back and the vet saw him without me being there - although last time he had stitches taken out there the vet told me he was fat - which I did not appreciate at all!
So maybe a good thing I wasn't out there.
The scar is healed nicely and given that they didn't have to cut into the intestine he has been eating well and hasn't tried to chew or lick at the stitches at all - so putting the cone on him would have been just a major pain in the butt and he would have been unable to settle - good choice me!!!
OH has the supplies for fencing around the edge of the garden where the riverstones are so neither of the dogs will be able to get into that area at all - which will mean that we can relax a bit more and not worry every time they are left alone.
Footy season only has about 6 weeks left too so after that the kelpie can go back to dog obedience and we have some time freed up to walk them more - which will be good for all of us.
They are booked into boarding kennels for a weekend while we are away - they have stayed there before and we were really happy with them so that isn't a problem - the people who own the kennel breed Akitas so are used to big dogs - and Earl just does his smoochy act over them and everyone loves him *sigh*
Look at me - how can you resist this cuteness?
